Rooibos

Rich in anti-oxidants and essential minerals, Rooibos (or red tea) is an internationally recognised anti-aging beverage, as supported by studies at the AICHI Medical University in Japan. Rooibos is known to have powerful anti-spasmodic and anti-allergenic effects, improves circulation and liver function, strengthens lymph vessels, decreases cholesterol levels and is prescribed for nervous tension and insomnia. In a recent collaborative study by scientists from Rome* and Glasgow**, they found the first clinical evidence to prove that drinking rooibos tea significantly increases the antioxidant capacity in human blood, thereby boosting the body’s natural defenses. The latest research found that the anti-oxidant capacity in the blood of healthy volunteers peaked one hour after drinking 500ml ready-to-drink Rooibos tea.
