As a result, he\u2019s committed to uplifting others by giving back, acknowledging the significance of their contributions to his success.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"video strchf-type-video regular strchf-size-regular strchf-align-center\">\n<div class=\"embed-container\">\n<div style=\"max-width: 100%; position: relative; padding-top: 56.5%;\"><iframe style=\"position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 100%; height: 100%; border: none;\" title=\"BOS x Siya Kolisi: Every ONE Is Brewed for Greatness\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DXZs6IUyeKI?feature=oembed\" width=\"200\" height=\"113\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>A shared mindset fuels Siya and Rachel\u2019s actions, especially in their work with the <a href=\"https:\/\/kolisifoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kolisi Foundation<\/a>. They recognise that each small act of change matters by remembering the ONE, ONE by ONE, and their responses below prove this.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"al70u\">What does community mean to you?<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Siya: <\/strong>Without the people in my community, I wouldn\u2019t be where I am today. And it would be criminal for me to forget where I came from \u2013 the whole village helped me.<\/p>\n<p>Community has always been a big part of my life and upbringing because my mom was too young to raise me, so she took me to my gran. When my gran passed, my aunt and then my uncle looked after me, and the rest of the community helped.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Whenever I was hungry, I could go to my neighbour. And when I was naughty, anybody could discipline me. There was no ill will when somebody did. That helped me understand if someone is struggling, I should help them \u2019cause that\u2019s my family.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And that\u2019s why having my family name on a BOS can is huge. It\u2019s got a lot of my culture\u2019s traditional patterning, and I also think it\u2019s a big deal because you can find more information online to <a href=\"https:\/\/kolisifoundation.org\/approach-focus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">see where the funding is going<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rachel:<\/strong> There\u2019s so much power in community, and sometimes we underestimate it because we live in a society where people believe you can make it on your own. We can do much more together.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"95fqh\">What brings you joy?<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Siya:<\/strong> My family gives me the most joy by a country mile. Wherever they are, and I\u2019m with them, that\u2019s it for me.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I\u2019m the standup comedian in the family and don\u2019t get taken seriously, but I like that. That\u2019s the biggest joy for me \u2013 just to be with them and be a clown for them.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Rachel:<\/strong> I wish I had a different answer, but I don\u2019t. I\u2019m 100% obsessed with my family. Sometimes you want to be alone, and everyone\u2019s driving you crazy. But you know that deep laugh that doesn\u2019t come around every day? The one that hurts your tummy and makes you cry. I genuinely have my most moments of that when I\u2019m with my family.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"3cv8p\">What makes authenticity important?<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Siya:<\/strong> You can only be the best when you\u2019re your true self. It doesn\u2019t matter what or how tough it is. You must find a way to do it, even if it\u2019s out of your comfort zone.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I\u2019ve realised the importance of becoming the best version of myself because you can see when something\u2019s not true to me. When somebody\u2019s telling me what to say, you see right through it. That\u2019s why I\u2019ll never speak on a topic I\u2019m clueless about, and I\u2019ve turned things down that don\u2019t sit comfortably with me or when our values don\u2019t align.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When you\u2019re true to yourself, it doesn\u2019t matter how much someone offers you. You\u2019ll say no if that\u2019s not what you stand for, and always be at your best. You can see when somebody\u2019s being themselves, and it\u2019s beautiful.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"7fud2\">What do you want to express with your Limited Edition BOS Ice Tea?<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Siya:<\/strong> It\u2019s deeply personal. This beautiful can talks about my Xhosa heritage and where I came from. It resembles the beads we wear in our traditional events. When we\u2019re celebrating something, we dress up and paint our faces. Additionally, knowing that by buying one, they\u2019re making a difference in communities across South Africa.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"bvics\">How do you show you care?<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Rachel:<\/strong> The Kolisi Foundation was ingrained in our minds many years ago. We knew we needed a vehicle for everything we wanted to achieve in South Africa. Essentially, we created the foundation from my and Siya\u2019s lived experiences. The fact that people now, more than ever, are dealing with the same things we dealt with in childhood is unacceptable.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The foundation focuses on food security, gender-based violence, and education and sports development, which affected Siya and me and influenced where we are today.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Siya:<\/strong> We want to address those issues \u2019cause we have the platform. What I like about what we\u2019re doing is we don\u2019t talk about anything we didn\u2019t feel. I won\u2019t make a stand if I don\u2019t believe in something \u2019cause you can see through it. That\u2019s why we wanted to do something that meant a lot to us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rachel:<\/strong> What\u2019s great about this collaboration between the Kolisi Foundation and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bosbrands.com\/za\/product-category\/rooibos-ice-tea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BOS Ice Tea<\/a> is not only is it a phenomenal homegrown product, but the brand chose to look beyond sales and asked: \u2018How do we give back to the community and the country we came from?\u2019 There\u2019s such a value alignment for us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Siya:<\/strong> So, it\u2019s not just a can.
