ROOIBOS & HONEY MUFFINS: AN EASY WHOLESOME RECIPE WITH ONLY A FEW INGREDIENTS

If you’re after easy desserts with few ingredients, these rooibos and honey muffins are a must-try. Lightly spiced, naturally sweetened, and super fluffy, they’re a perfect balance of comfort and health.

You’ll need:

  • 1 cup brewed BOS Rooibos (cooled)
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

How to bake:

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C and line a muffin tin.
  • Mix all the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the honey, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and cooled rooibos tea.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  • Spoon the batter into muffin cups and bake for 18–20 minutes until golden.

ROOIBOS-SPICED BISCUITS: A WARMING COOKIE RECIPE

Looking for an easy cookie recipe to bake on a chilly day? These rooibos-spiced biscuits are infused with warm spices and perfect for dunking in a steaming mug of tea. Plus, they’re fun for the kids to help decorate.

You’ll need:

½ cup brewed BOS Rooibos (strong, cooled) 

  • 2 ½ cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 egg

(Pro-tip #2: Use BOS Chai Flavoured Teabags for optimum flavour!)

How to bake:

  • Preheat the oven to 175°C and line a baking tray.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the egg and cooled rooibos tea.
  • Stir in the dry ingredients to form a soft dough.
  • Roll out the dough, cut into shapes, and bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden.

This recipe works as a base for most homemade baking recipes, try adding a drizzle of chocolate or a sprinkle of icing sugar once cooled!
